IISA
For several years, Tracker has remained a Platinum Sponsor of the Insurance Institute of South Africa’s (IISA) annual conference held in Sun City. The conference is an important event in the insurance industry's calendar and provides the close on 500 delegates the opportunity to debate challenges facing the industry as a whole. Apart from the exhibition, in which Tracker has won an award for “The Most Innovative Exhibition Stand” for the past three consecutive years, Tracker proudly sponsors the closing night festivities – a themed evening aligned with the overall theme of the conference.

From future time zones to the depths of the Lost City of Atlantis, this memorable evening has become a firm favourite with enthusiastic delegates who eagerly dress according to theme!
MPH
2009 is the second consecutive year which Tracker has co-sponsored the MPH Show Featuring Top Gear Live. The exhibition, held at the Coca Cola Dome, sees hundreds of motor manufacturers and vehicle accessory providers displaying their products to the close on 100 000 visitors which attend every year. Tracker sponsored “The Stig” Segment of the live Top Gear performance - a high speed, high performance driving display which further proves that the only company capable of catching the mysterious phenomenon clad all in white… is Tracker!

The JHB International Motor Show
The Johannesburg International Motor Show (JIMS) is held bi-annually at the Johannesburg Expo Centre at Nasrec. This prestigious show, which draws an estimated audience of 250 000 people each year, is utilised by many motor manufacturers as a platform to launch new vehicle models. At the 2008 show, Tracker took the initiative of safeguarding the parking lots surrounding the exhibition halls. The perimeter fence was wrapped with Tracker branding as a deterrent to would-be car thieves, and Tracker Operational Teams were patrolling the area for the duration of the show. Two easy-to-locate Tracker offices were set up to enable Advance Activation of Tracker units should vehicles have been stolen, whilst also enabling Tracker customers to test their Tracker Units while they browsed the show.

Tracker Golf Day
|
The Tracker Golf Day 2009 was held at the Ebotse Golf Estate in Benoni. A full field of 128 golfers teed off on Wednesday the 4th of March to face the challenging 18 holes in a glorious sunshine-filled day. On-course festivities included snack and beverage bars and driving demonstrations courtesy of the ProShop and although many golfers spent a large portion of the day combing the rough for missing balls, a festive time was had by all. Congratulations to the Champions of the Tracker Golf Day 2009 and we hope to see you back next year to defend your title!

SAPS Awards
|
Tracker is the only vehicle recovery company which has a formalised partnership with the South African Police Services. This symbiotic relationship has seen 49 467 successful recoveries since its inception. In order to honour these brave policemen and women who work tirelessly in the fight against crime, Tracker hosts an annual Awards ceremony to give due praise and recognition to those individuals and units who have made a significant contribution towards Tracker’s Recovery operations. Awards are presented to individuals and units in front of their peers, influential guests and government ministers, whilst monetary donations to charities of the winners’ choice are donated by Tracker on their behalf. So successful is this relationship, that Tracker and the SAPS have subsequently signed their third consecutive 5 year partnership agreement.
Tracker New Building Opening
|
The 30th and 31st of March 2009 marked the official opening of the new Tracker Head offices – Tracker Echo Park – in Darrenwood. A parking basement was converted into a luxurious party venue and Tracker’s 1200 staff and 300 corporate guests were treated to an eye-catching stunt show complete with villains and the Tracker Hero swooping in to save the day! The Superhero theme, which was carried through from the décor, to the Tracker boxer shorts which staff had to wear over their pants, is aligned with Tracker’s shared values which were launched to staff at this function.
|
The celebration commemorating the opening of Tracker’s new home was made even more memorable as a result of the fire which gutted the old head office building just two months prior.
TV / Movie Sponsorships
Tracker was asked to participate in the latest production of “Candid Camera”, aptly named Rainbow Skelms. The movie involves a number of well known South African brands playing practical jokes on local celebrities in a fun, light-hearted manner which all South Africans can appreciate. The movie is set to premiere in December of 2009 at Ster Kinekor outlets.
